Arious was separated from his parents while traveling back to Evermeet when their airship was attacked by a flock of harpies. Their haunting songs sent passengers into a trance, and in the chaos, Arious lost his footing and plummeted through the clouds. He crashed into a dense forest below, waking up alone with no sign of his family. Struggling to survive, he eventually made his way to the nearest city, where he spent years battling poverty.

One fateful night, after a brutal street fight, an aging Drow ranger named Glynn intervened, saving his life. Offering shelter and guidance, Glynn taught Arious the craft of survival, tracking, and combat. Over the years, they traveled together. Glyn

n later decided to take in another orphaned soul—Emmrich, a human guard working for the city. Emmrich and Arious grew up like siblings under the old man’s care. And although Emmrich was technically younger than Arious, he was the more mature of the two, as is often the case with elves growing at a slower rate.

After years together, Arious decided to return home in an effort to reconnect with his family in Evermeet. He managed to do so for a short time, until he received a message that Glynn’s health was failing. Without hesitation, Arious left his family once more to care for the man who had raised him.

Time took its toll. When his mentor grew frail, Arious cared for him with Emmrich until the old ranger took his final breath.

In the quiet days that followed, as they tended to Glynn’s home and affairs, Emmrich finally shared something that had weighed on him for years.

“He told me once,” Emmrich said, sitting beside Arious with a tired look in his eyes, “that he had children. Back in Menzoberranzan. Said he left them behind, not because he didn’t love them—but because he couldn’t stay.”

Arious stared at him in disbelief. All those years traveling with Glynn, training under him, and never once had he mentioned them. It was a silent wound—another life Glynn had quietly buried beneath duty and regret.

Arious nodded slowly, unsure of what to say. He wasn’t angry—just... hollow. It made Glynn feel more human, and more distant, all at once.

Following his mentor’s passing, Arious returned to Evermeet, only to find that his family had disappeared once more. Vowing to find them, Arious took to the city, putting his skills to use as a bounty hunter. His unwavering moral code set him apart from the more ruthless mercenaries, making him a trusted guardian to the nobles who valued integrity over brutality.
